DIY: Floral Sundae

This flower sundae is the first project of Beauty by Angie. Angie played around with cup styles, colors, and techniques. This post is how she got the best results.

She began by acquiring;

  • 20 Fresh Carnations
  • A Reusable Desert Cup
  • Straws
  • Plastic Spoons
  • Floral Foam
  • Scissors
  • Hair Spray
  • Sugar Sprinkles

Then, she cut the floral foam to fit neatly inside the desert cups.

She cut the carnations and left about a half an inch of stem on each.

She thoroughly soaked the floral foam in water to preserve the Carnations as long as possible.  The help of a curious Kitty is optional.

Angie arranged the flowers by alternating the shades of purple around the outer rim. The stems are simply pressed into the damp foam. The stem bores a hole which holds the flower in place.

After she made a complete circle, she continued the pattern on the top.

She added to the desert look by including a spoon and a straw.

Finally, she sprayed the flowers with a little hairspray to glue on the sugar sprinkles.

The final dish is a beautiful floral desert. Angie plans on playing around with dishes, flowers, and colors.
